Just Paint It

I love the color green.  Almost all shades of green.  Jay and I finally found the time to paint our Adirondack chairs that we’d had for almost a year, and this is how they came out.  I’m just not so sure I like it yet.

The chairs don’t really POP like I’d like them to.  They seem to just blend in with the background.  Jay’s suggestion is to plant purple fountain grass in the galvanized buckets.  That may help.  But I’m thinking I’ll still need a little something more.

Any suggestions?  Please don’t tell me I’ve gotta paint those chairs again!  Talk about tedious!

Happy Planting…you know I’ll be shoving some grasses in some buckets…

  2. I love the color and everything about the styling of your sitting area. Yes, they blend into the current background (wood siding) but that begs the question: what is planted in the beds around them? You haven’t yet got what you want them to contrast with! Think about that next; dark foliage or bright colors would both look great! Good luck!

Thanks for your input Laura! I planted the Purple Fountain Grass today. Directly behind the chairs is Hypericum, Asiatic Lilies and Catmint… got Ninebark off to the side. Might have to do some rearranging!

I really like the colour, and i think the purple grass would look stunning beside them! I say keep them for this season and finish decorating/planting, then make your final decision. AND…you can always re-paint! I’ll even offer to help…I LOVE to paint! Really!

I think all you need is a pillow in red or orange. I LOVE it! I love the color.

Thanks Georgie and Hannah! I do really like the color. Maybe next year I’ll swap out the pillows….one stab at the wallet at a time!
